Meet Christine - your Sound Therapist

Hi, I’m Christine Harris. Most people call me Chrissy — a name that feels like home to me. I am an accredited Sound Therapist, having gained my Sound Therapy Advanced Practitioner training via the Australian Sound Healers Association (ASHA).  I offer trauma-informed and culturally sensitive sound sessions, which involves creating therapeutic soundscapes, designed to support your needs.

The Sound Therapy Advanced Practitioner Training Course is nationally recognised and delivers trauma-informed training in the therapeutic use of sound and vibration. The program combines scientific research with ancient wisdom, equipping practitioners to safely facilitate Sound Therapy in one-on-one and group settings for emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. The one year (300 hours) course is recognised by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT).

With an Honours Degree in Music specialising in Ethnomusicology and a background performing across a range of musical genres, I strive to bring both musical depth and intentional presence into every session.

I offer recorded therapeutic soundscapes to support guided meditations and play a range of Sound Therapy instruments, which are specialised tools to create sounds and vibrations to promote physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and healing. Currently these include Lotus Wind Gong, Crystal and Tibetan Singing Bowls, Frame Drums, Percussion instruments, Tuning Forks, Chimes, Native American Flute and I integrate my own voice to harmonise with and add depth to the sounds.

Sound and frequency can assist to shift physical and emotional states and Sound Therapy is recognised in both spiritual and scientific communities as a growing healing modality.

Vibration is at the core of sound healing with the belief that all matter including the human body vibrates at specific frequencies. Disruptions in these natural frequencies are thought to lead to illness, while restoring them through sound can promote healing. Ancient traditions embraced healing frequencies and modern science is now validating these effects through studies like neurology, psychoacoustics and vibrational medicine.

For me, alignment in Sound Therapy refers to the practice of allowing sounds and frequencies in combination with your breath to gently guide you back to your authentic self. Through sound, stillness, calm and presence you are invited to remember who you are and explore the power of self-healing that exists within you. 

I aim to offer a full sound‑sensory relaxation experience that can support brainwave shifts from beta into alpha or theta, and assist the autonomic nervous system to settle from sympathetic ‘fight or flight’ into parasympathetic ‘rest and digest’.

Sessions occur at my studio, your home, business or other agreed venue. I welcome collaborations with other health and wellbeing therapists, sound therapists and musicians, with the aim to diversify and deepen the immersive sound healing experience. 

My sound sessions hold a calm space for your natural healing and alignment. I offer presence, care, intention and sound to support your healing journey.
